Jim Evans is GSA’s vice president of operations and chief financial officer. He has more than 30 years of experience with non-profits and is acknowledged as a pro-active and results-oriented executive with broad experience in all aspects of governance, membership, operations, and financial management. He has demonstrated hands-on management style in the development and implementation of strategic plans to ensure growth, and an efficient organizational culture. Along with expertise in delivering team-driven process improvements to ensure revenue growth, operational efficiency, overall profitability, and engagement.
Most recently, he served as a vice president and chief financial officer with ASIS International for 16 years to help them achieve their mission and strategic objectives. He supported divisions/departments to achieve their goals and program(s) financial objectives.He was ASIS’ representative on all financial matters to the board and committees, as well the liaison with the Bylaws and Resolutions Committee. In 2010, he became the lead staff individual for managing the strategy and operations for the affiliate 501(c)(3) ASIS Foundation. While at ASIS, Evans oversaw all accounting, administrative services, finance, human resource, information technology, as well as membership practices, and the foundation for the organization. He ensured ASIS business and financial practices are consistent with industry, legal, and ethical standards.
Prior to serving at ASIS, Evans worked for organizations such as the Community Association Institute, Association for University Programs in Health Administration, and the American Pharmaceutical Association. During this time, he has also held the president and treasurer positions for a condominium association for over fourteen years, and was a small business owner. Jim received his Bachelor in Business Administration/Finance degree from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He is also a member of professional organizations such as the American Society of Association Executives, the Society for Human Resource Management, and other association management organizations.
